CSV Viewer — Free Online CSV File Viewer & CSV Reader. Free online CSV viewer and reader: open a CSV or TSV file or paste data to see it as a searchable, sortable table.
Auto-detects comma, semicolon, tab and pipe delimiters, flags broken rows and exports to JSON or Markdown — no upload. Our CSV viewer turns raw comma-separated text into a clean, readable table the moment you paste it.
Open a .csv, .tsv or .txt file from your computer or paste rows copied from Excel, Google Sheets, a database export or an API response, and the online CSV viewer renders every column with its header, row count and column count.
The parser follows RFC 4180, so quoted values like "Charlie, Jr", escaped quotes and line breaks inside cells are displayed correctly instead of breaking the layout.
Delimiters are detected automatically — comma, semicolon (typical for European Excel exports), tab or pipe — which makes this tool a handy TSV viewer as well, and you can switch the delimiter or the header row manually at any time.
As a CSV reader online, it helps you actually work with the data rather than just look at it.
Search across all cells to filter rows instantly, click any column header to sort ascending or descending (numbers sort numerically, text sorts naturally, empty cells stay at the bottom), and page through large files 50 rows at a time.
A built-in check highlights rows whose number of fields does not match the header — a quick way to spot missing delimiters or unescaped quotes before an import.
When the data looks right, copy the visible rows as a JSON array of objects or as a Markdown table for documentation, tickets and README files.
Everything runs locally in your browser: your CSV file viewer never uploads anything, so customer lists, financial reports and log exports stay private, and the page keeps working offline.
Share a link that restores your data, delimiter and search, or load the sample to try it. Turning the file into something else?
Generate INSERT statements with CSV to SQL, convert JSON back with JSON to CSV, extract rows from a dump with SQL to CSV, or build a table for docs with the Markdown Table Generator.
Frequently asked questions
How do I open and view a CSV file online?
Click Open CSV file to choose a .csv, .tsv or .txt file, or paste the data into the text box (Load sample shows an example). The Table Preview appears immediately with row and column counts and shows 50 rows per page.
How do I sort or search the table?
Click a column header to sort ascending, click again for descending and a third time to remove the sort; numbers are sorted by value. Type in the search box to keep only rows where any cell contains your text; the row count shows how many rows match.
Which CSV delimiters are supported?
Comma, semicolon, tab and pipe. Auto (the default) detects the delimiter and shows which one it found, or you can pick one manually. Quoted fields containing delimiters, escaped double quotes and line breaks inside quotes are handled.
Why does it warn that some rows have a different number of columns?
Those rows contain more or fewer fields than the header, usually because of a missing or extra delimiter or an unclosed quote. The table still shows the data so you can find and fix those lines in your file.
How do I convert the CSV to JSON or a Markdown table?
Click Copy as JSON to copy the rows as an array of objects keyed by the header names, or Copy as Markdown to copy a Markdown table. Only rows that match the current search are copied, in the current sort order.
Is my CSV file uploaded to a server?
No. The file is read and parsed in your browser and is never uploaded. Note that Copy link places the CSV content in the share URL, so only share links for data you are happy for others to see.

Practical tips
Before copying the final result, check important details such as spacing, casing, filenames, encoding, token structure, line breaks, or output format. Small checks prevent mistakes when the result is reused in source code, API requests, documentation, spreadsheets, or shared files.
