Instantly convert your SQL INSERT statements into clean CSV data with our free SQL to CSV converter online.

This essential data engineering tool parses SQL INSERT INTO scripts and extracts all row values as comma-separated format ready for Excel, Google Sheets, or any data analysis tool.

Whether you are a data analyst exporting MySQL records, a database administrator migrating SQL Server data, or a developer pulling query results into spreadsheets, our SQL export to CSV tool provides precise column mapping and robust string parsing.

To reverse the process, see our CSV to SQL Converter. Simply paste your SQL INSERT statements and download your CSV instantly.

Our SQL to CSV converter runs entirely in your browser — your proprietary database schemas, sensitive user records, and internal business data are never sent to a server. All parsing happens locally using client-side JavaScript.

The parser reads the SQL token by token, so it handles schema-qualified table names (db.table, db.table, [db].[table]), inserts without a column list, commas, semicolons and parentheses inside quoted strings, doubled ('') and backslash-escaped quotes, NULL values, and multi-row, multi-statement INSERT batches.

Output fields are quoted following RFC 4180. Use it to move data between MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and SQL Server exports without installing any software.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert SQL INSERT statements to CSV?

Paste one or more INSERT INTO statements into the SQL (INSERT statements) box. The CSV output appears on the right: the first line holds the column names and every value tuple becomes one row. Click Copy CSV to paste it into a spreadsheet, or Download .csv to save it as a file.

What SQL input does the converter support?

INSERT INTO and REPLACE INTO statements with a VALUES list, with one or many rows and statements. Table names may be schema-qualified, such as db.users, db.users or [db].[dbo].[users]. When an insert has no column list, the header is col1, col2 and so on. SELECT queries and CREATE TABLE statements are ignored.

How are quotes, commas and NULL values handled?

Quoted values are unquoted; doubled quotes ('') and MySQL backslash escapes such as \' and \n are restored. Commas, semicolons and parentheses inside strings stay part of the value. In the CSV, a field that contains a comma, double quote or line break is wrapped in double quotes with inner quotes doubled. NULL becomes an empty field.

What happens when statements have different columns?

The header always comes from the first INSERT. If a later statement lists other columns, a different number of columns or targets another table, a warning names those statements and their values are still written by position under the first header. Convert each table separately for a clean file.

Can I download the result as a CSV file?

Yes. Click Download .csv to save the output as data.csv, or Copy CSV to paste it elsewhere. The conversion and the file are created in your browser, so your data is not uploaded.
