What is the difference between the NATO, ICAO and LAPD alphabets?

How do I decode NATO code words back to text?

What do Spell numbers and Mark upper/lower case do?

Spell numbers, on by default, turns digits into words such as Five, or Fife in ICAO mode; turn it off to keep digits. Mark upper/lower case writes code words for capital letters in UPPERCASE and for small letters in lowercase, which helps when reading out case-sensitive codes.
