Frequently asked questions
How do I add text to the beginning or end of each line?
Paste your list into Input, then type what should go before each line in Prefix and what should go after it in Suffix. The Output updates as you type; click Copy to copy the result.
How do I wrap every line in quotes and add commas?
Type a quote mark in Prefix and a quote mark followed by a comma in Suffix, so apple becomes "apple", which is handy for SQL IN lists, JSON arrays or code. Remove the trailing comma from the last line if your syntax requires it.
Are empty lines changed too?
Yes. Every line, including empty ones, gets the prefix and suffix, and the text within each line is kept exactly as it is. A single line break at the very end of the input is kept as it is and does not create an extra decorated line. Remove other blank lines first if you do not want them to be decorated.
Why does the Prefix field start with - [ ]?
The tool opens with a Markdown task-list example: a Prefix of - [ ] turns each line into a checkbox item. Replace the Prefix with your own text, and use Clear to empty the Input box.
Can I share the result with someone?
Yes. Copy link creates a URL containing your input, prefix and suffix so someone else can open the same result. Processing happens in your browser, but the shared link itself contains your text, so avoid sharing sensitive data that way.
