How we build and test the tools

• Research first. Before we build or rework a tool, we look at what people actually search for and at the existing tools for the same job, so that ours covers the options people need.
• Automated tests for every tool. Each tool has end-to-end tests that open it in a real browser (Playwright) and check that it does what its page says. Many tools also have unit tests for their core logic.
• Fixes when a tool falls short. If a tool does not do what its page describes, we fix the tool or correct the page. Your reports help us find these cases.
• Open-source foundations. The site is built with Vue 3 and relies on well-established open-source libraries.

Open-source foundation

TimeToTime Tools is built on IT-Tools by Corentin Thomasset, an open-source project licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0). We have modified and extended it with new tools, translations into 9 languages and SEO pages such as category pages and tool FAQs.

Privacy: where your data goes

Most tools process what you enter locally in your browser: your text, files and settings are not uploaded to our servers, and we do not store the raw data you put into the tools. A few features need an outside service, and the tool's page says so:

• YouTube Video Downloader: the video link is sent to loader.to, which does the conversion.
• Meta Tag Analyzer: in URL mode, the page is loaded through the api.allorigins.win proxy.
• Text to Speech: online voices are generated by your browser vendor's speech service.
• YouTube Thumbnail Downloader: the thumbnail images are loaded from YouTube.
