Rotate or mirror batches of still JPEG, PNG and WebP images on your device. Choose 90°, 180°, 270°, −90° or a custom angle between −360 and 360 degrees, including decimals. Positive angles turn clockwise; flips act in the source image’s frame before rotation.
Settings apply to every queued image. Select Same as input, JPEG, PNG or WebP output. Each source and output is limited to 20 MiB. Up to 10 files may be selected, with separate 50 MiB input and completed-output budgets.
Both source and expanded output must fit 24 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per edge. Processing stops after 30 seconds per file. GIF, SVG, AVIF, HEIC, animated PNG and animated WebP are unsupported.
If a supported source expands beyond the output limit, reduce its dimensions with Image Compressor before rotating. Sources that already exceed the input limits need resizing in another image editor.
The canvas expands and rounds outward so custom-angle bounds do not clip source edges. A 120 × 80 image at 90° becomes 80 × 120; at 45° its canvas becomes 142 × 142. PNG and WebP preserve transparent corners; JPEG uses white corners.
Browser orientation is applied before your transformation. Results are re-encoded at quality 100, which does not guarantee lossless JPEG/WebP. File size, colors and profiles may change; source EXIF is not copied.
Images are processed in memory without upload or browser storage; ads make separate network requests.
Frequently asked questions
How do I rotate an image?
Choose up to 10 still JPG, PNG or WebP files, set an angle from −360 to 360 degrees and optional flips, then rotate. Positive angles turn clockwise. Compare results and download individual images or a ZIP.
Which direction do rotation and flips use?
Enter −360 to 360 degrees, including decimals. Positive rotates clockwise; negative rotates counterclockwise. Flips apply in the original image’s frame before rotation. These settings apply to every queued image.
Why does a custom angle change the dimensions?
The canvas expands to contain the rotated image and rounds its dimensions outward. Quarter turns swap width and height exactly. For example, 120 × 80 at 90° becomes 80 × 120, while 45° becomes 142 × 142.
What color are the empty corners?
PNG and WebP keep transparent corners. JPEG cannot store transparency, so empty corners and transparent source areas become white.
Will rotation preserve quality and metadata?
Results are re-encoded even at 0°. The highest browser quality setting does not guarantee lossless JPEG/WebP. Colors, profiles and file size can change. Source EXIF is not copied; browser orientation is applied before rotation.
What are the supported formats and limits?
Only still JPEG, PNG and WebP. Up to 10 files, 20 MiB per file/output, separate 50 MiB input/output budgets, 24 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per edge for source and result. Animated images and other formats are rejected. Each file has a 30-second deadline.
Are images uploaded?
Images are processed locally without uploading them or saving them in browser storage. Ads make separate network requests. Clear the queue or leave this page to release the results.
How to use this online tool
Rotate Image Online — Free Image Rotator is designed for fast browser workflows when you need to format, validate, convert, decode, encode, generate, or inspect data without opening a heavy desktop app. Start with the input field or visible options, review the result, then copy or download the output for the next step.
Private processing in your browser
Rotate Image Online — Free Image Rotator keeps the normal processing step local in your browser. That is useful for code snippets, tokens, documents, configuration values, text samples, and other material that should not be sent to a remote service unless you explicitly choose to share it.
When this tool is useful
Use Rotate Image Online — Free Image Rotator for repeatable developer tasks, technical documentation, QA checks, quick conversions, debugging, content cleanup, and internal team workflows. The page focuses on clear inputs, immediate feedback, and output that is easy to reuse in code, reports, tickets, emails, or notes.
Practical tips
Before copying the final result, check important details such as spacing, casing, filenames, encoding, token structure, line breaks, or output format. Small checks prevent mistakes when the result is reused in source code, API requests, documentation, spreadsheets, or shared files.
