Which hex color formats are supported?
3-digit (#FFF), 4-digit (#FFF8), 6-digit (#FFFFFF) and 8-digit (#FFFFFF80) codes, with or without the leading #. The 4th digit or the last two digits are read as alpha, so #00C1D480 gives an Alpha of 0.5.
How does hex opacity work?
In an 8-digit hex code the last two digits are the alpha channel, from 00 (fully transparent) to FF (fully opaque). The tool divides that value by 255 and rounds to two decimals, so 80 becomes 0.5 and CC becomes 0.8.
Why don't the RGB values change when I type a hex code?
The R, G, B and Alpha values update only when the field holds a complete hex code of 3, 4, 6 or 8 digits. While you are still typing, for example after 5 digits, the previous values are kept; also check that the code uses only 0-9 and A-F.
