How do I clean and normalize an email list?

Paste addresses into Raw emails, one per line or separated by commas or semicolons. Each one is normalized instantly under Normalized emails. Tick Remove duplicates, Skip invalid emails or Sort alphabetically as needed, then click Copy or Download CSV.

What does email normalization change?

Every address is trimmed and lowercased. For gmail.com and googlemail.com, dots in the username and anything after a plus sign are removed and googlemail.com becomes gmail.com. For outlook.com, hotmail.com and live.com only the plus tag is removed; dots are kept because Microsoft treats first.last and firstlast as different mailboxes. Other domains are only lowercased.

Why are Gmail dots and plus tags removed?

Gmail ignores dots in the username and delivers mail for name+anything to the same inbox, so one person can sign up many times with variations of one address. Normalizing reveals that these addresses reach the same mailbox, which helps with deduplication and spotting repeat sign-ups.

Can I paste addresses copied from an email client?

Yes. Entries with a display name and the address in angle brackets, and mailto: links, are reduced to the bare address before normalization, so you can paste the To or Cc line of a message.

Why is an address shown as unable to parse?

It failed the basic format check: a username made of letters, digits, dots, underscores, percent, plus or hyphen, then an at sign, then a domain with a dot and an ending of at least two letters. Tick Skip invalid emails to drop these lines from the result.

What is in the CSV download, and is my list uploaded?

The CSV has three columns, original, normalized and status (valid or invalid), with one row per address in the result. It is created in your browser; the addresses are never uploaded, although Copy link puts them into the share URL.
