Bitwise Calculator. Perform bitwise AND, OR, XOR, NOT, left shift, and right shift operations on integers — free online bitwise calculator with binary, hex, and octal output. Instantly compute bitwise operations with our free online bitwise calculator.

Enter two integers and choose AND, OR, XOR, NOT, left shift, or right shift — results appear immediately in decimal, binary, hex, and octal.

Whether you are working on low-level systems programming, bit masking for embedded devices, or logic gate simulations, this bit shift calculator covers all common bitwise operators in one clean interface.

Our bitwise AND calculator, bitwise OR calculator, and XOR calculator all run entirely in your browser with zero server communication.

Input values are never transmitted anywhere, making it ideal for working with sensitive flag states, permissions masks, or proprietary embedded system values. Results update in real time as you type — no button press needed.

Use it as a quick logic gate calculator or as part of your systems programming workflow.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate a bitwise AND, OR or XOR?

Type two integers in Input A and Input B and choose the Operation. The default 42 AND 15 gives 10 (binary 00001010, hex 0xA, octal 12). The binary form of each input is shown under its field, and Copy result copies all four representations.

How do left shift and right shift work in this bit shift calculator?

Left Shift moves the bits of Input A left by the number of places in Input B, multiplying by 2 for each place, so 5 shifted left by 2 is 20. Right Shift moves the bits right and keeps the sign, dividing by 2 per place and rounding down. Only shift amounts from 0 to 31 are meaningful.

What does NOT do, and why is the result negative?

NOT flips every bit of Input A, and Input B is disabled. Numbers are handled as 32-bit signed integers, so NOT 42 gives -43. The Binary, Hex and Octal boxes show the unsigned 32-bit bit pattern, for example 0xFFFFFFD5.

What range of numbers is supported?

Operations use JavaScript's 32-bit integer arithmetic, so inputs should be whole numbers from -2147483648 to 2147483647. Fractions are truncated and larger values wrap around to 32 bits before the operation, which can give surprising results.

Are my values sent to a server?

No. Every bitwise operation is calculated in your browser as you type, and the numbers are not uploaded or stored.

How to use this online tool

Bitwise Calculator is designed for fast browser workflows when you need to format, validate, convert, decode, encode, generate, or inspect data without opening a heavy desktop app. Start with the input field or visible options, review the result, then copy or download the output for the next step.

Private processing in your browser

Bitwise Calculator keeps the normal processing step local in your browser. That is useful for code snippets, tokens, documents, configuration values, text samples, and other material that should not be sent to a remote service unless you explicitly choose to share it.

When this tool is useful

Use Bitwise Calculator for repeatable developer tasks, technical documentation, QA checks, quick conversions, debugging, content cleanup, and internal team workflows. The page focuses on clear inputs, immediate feedback, and output that is easy to reuse in code, reports, tickets, emails, or notes.

Practical tips

Before copying the final result, check important details such as spacing, casing, filenames, encoding, token structure, line breaks, or output format. Small checks prevent mistakes when the result is reused in source code, API requests, documentation, spreadsheets, or shared files.
